Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, is best known for “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila,” which ran for two seasons on MTV. The bisexual dating show featured men and women vying for Tequila’s affections. She has also modeled for Playboy and other men’s magazines.

San Diego police have arrested San Diego Chargers linebacker
Shawne Merriman on suspicion of choking and restraining MySpace and MTV celebrity Tila Tequila.

According to reports, Tila Tequila (real name
Tila Nguyen) made a 911 call from to police 3:45 a.m Sunday following the alleged attack, and told police that “she had been choked and physically restrained by Merriman when she attempted to leave his residence.” Tequila signed a “citizen’s arrest complaint” and police took Shawne Merriman into custody at the scene.

Tila was admitted to a hospital following the incident where she received treatment for her injuries. Her current status is unknown.

Tila, best known for her reality series “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila” began dating Merriman in July.
