Walmart Black Friday Ad 2009
It is never too early to start to boost Christmas spirit – especially for retailers. We are still one and a half away from Christmas and a couple of weeks away from Black Friday, but while walking through the outdoor mall this weekend, it seems that retailers had no qualms about dust sample with artificial snow, pumping John Denver Christmas album or coffee out of pumpkin spice to these relentless winters in California.
I also realized that they already started to lose deals Black Friday. The loudest shouts came from Internet Wal-Mart, which apparently offers the Xbox 360 for only $ 99. And you know Target, Sears and Amazon are not going to take that kind of price discounts to sit. Check out this list of deals at CNET.
It may seem a little early to push these agreements, after all, we just put away our Halloween wigs. But this year more than ever, retailers rely on holiday sales and the largest that can build anticipation among consumers, the better.
So for those who are waking up before dawn to fulfill their patriotic duty by putting companies in the black again, we salute you. Black Friday is a completely different meaning for me, I’ll be under the sheets in a food coma black out.
